Unmasked Neurodiversity Network CIC (Unmasked NN) is committed to reducing our carbon footprint and working towards achieving Net Zero emissions. We recognise the importance of sustainability and environmental responsibility and are dedicated to implementing measures that will contribute to a greener future.

We aim to achieve Net Zero emissions by [insert target year, e.g., 2050] and will implement incremental changes to ensure a sustainable and environmentally responsible organisation. Our carbon reduction efforts align with the UK Government’s Net Zero Strategy and best practices in sustainability.

To develop an effective reduction plan, we will:

• Conduct a carbon footprint assessment to establish baseline emissions.
• Identify key sources of emissions, including transport, waste, and supply chains.
• Monitor and report emissions annually to track progress.

As tenants, our control over utilities and building maintenance is limited. However, we will:

• Engage with landlords to encourage the use of renewable energy sources and energy-efficient infrastructure.
• Advocate for improvements in energy efficiency, including LED lighting and sustainable heating and cooling solutions.
• Promote staff awareness of reducing energy consumption through simple actions like switching off unused equipment.

• Promote the use of public transport, cycling, and walking for commuting and work-related travel.
• Introduce hybrid and remote working options to reduce unnecessary travel.
• Transition to low-emission or electric vehicles for business use.

• Implement a reduce, reuse, recycle approach across all operations.
• Minimise paper usage by transitioning to digital processes.
• Partner with local recycling initiatives to ensure responsible disposal of waste materials.

• Work with eco-conscious suppliers who have strong environmental policies.
• Reduce carbon-intensive purchases and prioritise sustainable products.
• Encourage suppliers to align with our carbon reduction commitments.

• Explore carbon offsetting initiatives, such as tree planting or supporting carbon sequestration projects.
• Engage with community-based sustainability projects to contribute to environmental efforts.

• Provide staff training on sustainability best practices.
• Encourage employees to contribute ideas and participate in green initiatives.
• Work with local communities and organisations to promote environmental responsibility.

• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure carbon reduction efforts.
• Review and update our Carbon Reduction Plan annually.
• Publish an annual sustainability report to share progress and insights.
